The Embedded Lab and the Future Lab will feature a host of hands-on demonstrations highlighting current machine vision trends such as machine learning, embedded vision, 3D applications, hyperspectral imaging and Industry 4.0 connectivity. These will all utilise functionality provided by STEMMER IMAGING's Common Vision Blox machine vision software toolkit.
The CVB Polimago machine learning tool will be shown solving a number of machine learning applications across various industries.
A football floating on a vertical airstream will for example illustrate the capabilities of CVB Polimago to detect and classify various icons on the ball. At the same time Intel® RealSense™ technology will be visualising the 3D movement of the ball.
An embedded vision system shows communication between Common Vision Blox and a B&R PLC. All communication between the HMI, motorised controller and the vision system is handled using the CVB OPC UA tool. This allows the vision systems to adopt a common architecture within an OPC UA open standard network and provides platform-independent, and OS-independent communications for smart factory applications.
A hands-on customer evaluation station for hyperspectral imaging will highlight the latest CVB capabilities for the visualisation of hyperspectral image data cubes and for handling metadata.
The CVB 3D capabilities will be illustrated by building completely focused images from individual images acquired at different focus distances using a liquid lens.
The new Ricoh SC-10A human assistance camera system for assembly stations is designed to eliminate errors in manual assembly operations in a multitude of industries. A set of work instructions can be loaded into the system and displayed on a monitor while the camera scans the work piece. The human operator follows the on-screen assembly instructions and after every action the system compares the result to the correct stored image before the next step can be taken. This reduces errors, helps operators learn new tasks and provides a digital audit trail of all operations.
STEMMER IMAGING will also be presenting many other new products from all areas of machine vision and will be demonstrating its extensive range of services during the three days of the trade fair in Stuttgart, services which can be a valuable aid for users in the rapid and economic realisation of their tasks.
STEMMER IMAGING has been one of the leaders in the machine vision market since 1987. It is one of Europe's largest technology providers in this field. In 1997 STEMMER IMAGING presented Common Vision Blox (CVB), a powerful programming library for fast and reliable development and implementation of vision solutions, which has been deployed successfully throughout the world in more than 40,000 imaging applications in various industries.
