Contact image sensors (CIS)
Contact Image Sensors (CIS) also called line scan bars are an attractive alternative to common line scan cameras, allowing high data rates and at the same time offering high sensitivity and a straightforward setup. CIS use the same technology used in copy machines and desktop scanners. They combine a sensor, lens and light source with large pixels being mapped 1:1 with the object.
