Illumination control

Illumination usually needs to be controlled in some way. Lights can be strobed or pulsed, the intensity can be raised or lowered or, in a more complex set- up, different lighting scenarios can be pre-programmed using a lighting controller so a combination of images can be used to perform a reliable inspection.

Most illumination needs to be controlled in some way, whether it be simply turning the light on and off, or controlling how intense the illumination is. It was once common for engineers to develop their own lighting controllers, but this is time consuming and costly.
