Allied Vision Guppy series - High-performance FireWire cameras

The high performance Guppy camera range from Allied Vision represents an ideal solution for newcomers to digital imaging due to its modularity and the excellent value for money it offers.

All the products offer an IEEE-1394a interface (FireWire) and are particularly well suited to applications with severe space constraints because of the extremely compact design (the cameras are also available in board versions on request).

The various version offers camera variants with different, highly sensitive sensors. They are available with both progressive scan and interlaced CCDs with different resolutions (VGA, SVGA or XGA) covering an enormous range of potential applications and ensuring outstanding image quality. The two interlaced versions (EIA, CCIR resp. PAL, NTSC) make the switch from analogue to digital imaging even more attractive. Another Guppy version features a 1/3" CMOS sensor with global shutter.

The functionality of the Guppy range includes an external asynchronous trigger input which permits an immediate exposure start without any significant latency plus a large number of "smart features" that can be extremely useful for imaging applications.

One major benefit of this camera series is its flexibility. The separation of the image sensor from the main board allows easy customisation and special OEM versions on request.
