The Imaging Source's board level cameras are ideally suited for a variety of applications with limited space. The USB 3.1 board level cameras with Sony Pregius and STARVIS CMOS sensor technologies offer excellent image quality along with good NIR sensitivity and low noise. Maximum configuration flexibility is achieved through the reversible Type-C connector, the wide choice of M12 lenses and the supported input, output, strobe and trigger options.

The USB 3.1 camera family includes the "37" and "38" industrial camera series. The USB3 Vision Standard (USB 3.1 Gen1) compliant interface ensures stability and compatibility for image processing at high frame rates.

The GigE monochrome board level cameras feature low-noise sensor technology from Sony and Aptina. The GigE board cameras with dimensions of 45 x 45 x 20 mm can be used for a variety of applications where space is at a premium. Unlike other interfaces, Gigabit Ethernet technology allows cable lengths of up to 100 m and multi-camera systems to be implemented with ease.

The MIPI CSI-2 board cameras for embedded vision applications combine a MIPI CSI-2 sensor module and a 15-pin CSI-2 adapter for plug-and-play integration with Raspberry Pi 4B, NVIDIA Jetson Nano and NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX platforms.

The Imaging Source offers MIPI CSI-2 sensor modules to provide maximum design flexibility for embedded machine vision applications. They feature a 28-pin interface and thus require an adapter for the target platform interface. This ensures maximum flexibility for system engineers when developing their applications. The sensor modules are equipped with the latest Sony and onsemi CMOS sensors (global and rolling shutter).

The Imaging Source MIPI CSI-2 board level cameras with FPD-Link III serialiser boards offer a similar feature set as the standard MIPI CSI-2 cameras but allow cable lengths of up to 15 m. Image data, commands and power supply are transmitted via a thin coaxial cable.

Working with established host interface standards, the TIS products ensure easy integration. Interface options include MIPI CSI-2 with FDP-Link, GigE and USB 3.1 standard. The board level cameras have trigger and I/O functionality options for controlling and monitoring external components.

Single-board design

The low weight is just one of the benefits offered by the ultra-compact single-board design. With dimensions of just 30 x 30 x 12 mm, the single-board cameras provide maximum flexibility for a wide range of applications where space is at a premium, such as in industrial automation, quality control, surveillance and medicine.

FPD-Link III for embedded vision and longer cable lengths

The Imaging Source MIPI CSI-2 cameras with FPD-Link III serialiser boards enable transmission over copper with cable lengths of up to 15 metres, compared to the limited 20 cm cable length for MIPI CSI-2. Image data, control commands and power supply are transmitted simultaneously via a thin coaxial cable.

The FPD board level cameras can use the performance features of embedded computers like NVIDIA (Jetson Nano and Jetson AGX Xavier) and Raspberry Pi.

MIPI CSI-2 board cameras for embedded vision

The MIPI CSI-2 protocol enables direct processor-to-ISP connection, avoiding latency issues and minimising footprint. The MIPI cameras are perfectly suited for single and multi-camera embedded vision applications in automotive and IoT as well as for standard machine vision applications. The MIPI CSI-2 board cameras for embedded vision applications combine a MIPI CSI-2 sensor module and a 15-pin CSI-2 adapter for plug-and-play integration with Raspberry Pi 4B, NVIDIA Jetson Nano and NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX platforms.

IP67-rated cameras for rugged conditions

The IP67-rated cameras for embedded applications are suitable for single and multi-camera embedded systems for automotive, IoT and standard machine vision applications. The ruggedised cameras feature the FPD-Link III interface which allows for cable lengths of up to 15 m. They are fully IP6K6 & IP6K7 / ISO 20653 compliant when used with The Imaging Source's FAKRA cables. Image data, commands and power supply are transmitted via a thin coaxial cable. The IP67-rated FPD-Link cameras can be used with the latest NVIDIA Jetson as well as Raspberry Pi 4 platforms.
