Planning for a No-Deal (WTO) exit from the European Union

30 Jan 2019

As the risk of a No-Deal (WTO) exit from the EU on 29 March 2019 increases, STEMMER IMAGING have been working to ensure our customers get as little disruption of supply as possible.

STEMMER IMAGING are taking steps with our logistics partners to minimise this delay and with the company’s strong financial position we are able to hold increased stock. However, on analysis, with so many products, over 24,000 in fact, and many customers purchasing specialised variants of products it is impossible for us to guarantee availability of all products without our customers help.

  • Our offer is to import as many firm orders as possible into the UK before Brexit with scheduled deliveries in April free of charge.

  • To ensure this is possible, we need to receive orders as early as possible in February and March to ensure any non-stock items can be imported before the deadline on 28 March 2019.

  • Orders will then be shipped from the UK warehouse and invoiced just before the requested delivery date in April as normal.

Going forward, we will adjust our procurement process to accommodate any extended import lead times so this should be transparent to our customers. However, in May and June we recommend placing orders with increased lead-time, so we can accommodate the potential import delays. We will only ship and invoice so that goods arrive on your requested delivery date.

For critical deliveries in May and June where customers do not want to risk any import delays, STEMMER IMAGING can also import orders for May and June before the Brexit date of the 29 March 2019. If this is important for your business, please ask us to quote for this service before ordering.
