DALSA Xcelera PX8: Imaging with CameraLink

The Xcelera PX8 works uses the PCI Express 8x interface and is designed to be future-proof for 32- and 64-bit technology, due to its internal architecture and its driver support. The new CameraLink frame grabber the Xcelera-CL PX8, provides a bandwidth of more than 1GByte per second for image acquisition. This allows the user to connect CameraLink cameras with Base, Medium or Full, and to transfer image data at up to 85Mhz.
Comprehensive Onboard Pre-processing
Like the HS-Link versions, the CameraLink version also features comprehensive onboard pre-processing features such as tap sorting, look-up tables, Bayer conversions, flat field/flat line corrections, and correction of bright and dark pixels.
For machine interfacing, the frame grabber is fitted with numerous connections for triggers, strobes, rotary encoders, digital I/Os, status LEDs, and voltage supply. All inputs are also fitted with a »Trigger-to-Image-Reliability« functionality developed by Teledyne DALSA, which will increase the data integrity of the system.
The Teledyne DALSA Sapera and STEMMER IMAGING Common Vision Blox libraries are available for software support. They provide the user with a series of examples in all common programming languages, facilitating integration into customer-specific applications.
The Xcelera-CL PX8 frame grabber displays its strengths in particular in combination with the high-speed line and area cameras Piranha3, Piranha HS, Piranha ES and Falcon 4M60 from Teledyne DALSA and with the high-speed cameras CL600X2 from Optronis.
