Optronis: First 4 megapixel CoaXPress camera

Optronis launch the world's first 4 megapixel camera with CoaXPress interface.

CoaXPress, alongside CameraLink HS, is one of the most promising candidates for a new image processing standard. The Optronis CL4000CXP comprises a CMOS sensor with High-Speed Global Shutter and 2304 x 1720 pixel resolution and is available as a monochrome or colour model. At full resolution the camera achieves a frame rate of 500 images per second. The frame rate can even be increased by reducing the scan window (ROI). The maximum frame rate of 100.000 images per second can be provided at a resolution of 2304 x 4 pixels.

High-Speed: CMOS sensor with Global Shutter

The fast Global Shutter of the CMOS sensor allows for shutter speeds as low as 2 microseconds, thus providing sharp images even of high-speed objects. The image data is separated into packets and transferred via four parallel coaxial channels to the PC at a speed of some 2.4GB per second. Coaxial cables with cable lengths of up to 40 metres at maximum frame rate present a cost- effective data transfer solution.

Image data processing with FireBird and microEnable 5

We recommend the new FireBird capture cards by Active Silicon and the microEnable 5 CoaXPress by Silicon Software for image data processing, these are both available from STEMMER IMAGING.
