VISION show changes to biennial cycle

20 Feb 2013

The Stuttgart Fair (Messe Stuttgart) has announced switching the VISION show, the world’s leading machine vision trade fair, to a biennial cycle. The next VISION will be held in November 2014 and not in September 2013 as originally planned. STEMMER IMAGING whole-heartedly supports this biennial cycle of VISION.

"STEMMER IMAGING supports and welcomes this courageous decision by Messe Stuttgart. We will contribute our part every two years in maintaining VISION as the leading trade fair for Machine Vision and to consolidate its leading position" commented STEMMER Imaging’s managing director Christof Zollitsch with regard to this development.

The VISION cycle has been changed in consultation with the VDMA Machine Vision and important key companies in the industry, which include STEMMER IMAGING, and reflects the changing needs of the market. Zollitsch states; "Imaging and machine vision has passed its fledgling status. The innovation cycles of most of the major, international, leading companies are longer than 12 months, which meant that the annual cycle was no longer appropriate. With the new approach of holding VISION at two-year intervals we see optimal conditions for fair delegates to be presented with real novelties by the manufacturers."

By changing the cycle, the organizers fully justify their motto "Messe Stuttgart - Key to Markets", added Zollitsch: "by cancelling VISION 2013 Messe Stuttgart have taken the right decision in my opinion to build a powerful event for 2014. The quality of exhibitors will increase for visitors and both visitors and exhibitors will benefit from the increased efficiency of VISION."

Another benefit of the planned biennial cycle as from 2014 is that VISION will have a permanent November date in Hall 1 of the Messe Stuttgart, something that was not possible with the annual dates. "In our estimation the new cycle is a positive development overall for the exhibitors and visitors to VISION", summarizes Zollitsch.
