AVT: New Mako, Manta and Prosilica GT camera models

Allied Vision Technologies (AVT) has further expanded their Mako, Manta and Prosilica GT camera families.

With measurements of only 29 mm x 29 mm the AVT Mako is an ultra-compact mainstream machine vision camera with an excellent price/performance ratio. Mako cameras include the latest fast and sensitive CCD and CMOS sensors. The high-quality robust housing, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and opto-couples I/Os (1x in, 3x out) guarantee an easy integration. Seven Mako models with GigE Vision interface and resolutions from VGA to 4 megapixels will be available for market launch. According to AVT, the Mako will also be available later with a USB3 Vision interface.

High sensitivity, fast frame rates

Another innovation is the AVT Manta G-095C, a colour camera which features the EXview HAD II ICX692 sensor (1292 x 734 pixels) and provides very good sensitivity both in the visible and NIR spectrum. The Manta G-095 runs 40 fps at full resolution. With 9.2 Megapixels resolution in a compact body the Manta G-917 closes the gap between conventional machine vision cameras and ultra- high resolution cameras with 35 mm full frame sensors i.e. the new Prosilica GT6600 with 29 megapixels. The Manta G-917 is equipped with the latest 1'' Sony ICX814 sensor with EXview HAD II. In addition to CCD sensors the popular CMOSIS CMOS sensors have found their way into the Manta family. The Manta G-223 (CMV2000, 2.2 Megapixels) and the Manta G-419 (CMV4000, 4.2 Megapixels) offer high sensitivity and fast frame rates. Furthermore, both models are available as NIR versions with enhanced near-infrared sensitivity.

Powerful GigE Vision interface

The AVT Manta family offers a very attractive price/performance ratio. These models are equipped with a powerful GigE Vision interface and many optimisation functions. The Manta cameras are available in a multitude of resolutions and sensor sizes and offer a wide range of modular options such as angle head or board level versions, as well as Power over Ethernet (PoE). Thus, they are flexibly and easily integrated into any application.

Cameras with engineering firmware

Other highlights of the AVT Prosilica GT series are the GT2000, GT2000NIR, GT2050, GT2050NIR, GT3400, GT4905 and GT6600 models available no later than the end of April. Prototypes of these cameras with engineering firmware already exist. The GT2000 and GT2050 include the 2.2 and 4.2 CMOSIS Megapixel sensors, which are also used in the Manta series.

16 Megapixel Truesense sensor

Further models in this series are the Prosilica GT4905 and GT4907. Both models feature a 16 Megapixel Truesense sensor, the GT 4905 includes the KAI-16050 sensor with APS-H format and screen sizes of 32 and 36 mm, the GT4907 is equipped with the KAI-16070 sensor featuring a screen size of 43mm.

Starting in April, smart features will be included in addition to the firmware release 1.52 new. Thus, three LUTs and three user sets will be available for programming the Prosilica GT, GX and Manta in the future.
