High-speed with CoaXPress

In the summer of 2012, Optronis introduced the CoaXPress high-speed cameras CL4000CXP and CL25000CXP. Now the company presents the latest series of cameras, the CamPerform (CP), which has a more compact housing and is predestined for high-speed imaging.

The CamPerform series presently consists of the models CP80-4-M/C-500 with 4 and the CP80-25-M/C-72 with 25 mega pixels resolution.
This family has now been extended by the CP80-3-M/C-540 model with a resolution of 3 mega pixels. As with all CP cameras of this Optronis series, it is fitted with a CoaXPress interface. The CP80-3-M/C-540 is a true high- speed camera, especially suited for integration in 3D measuring machines or 3D inspection units. Here it offers a simple and yet high performance front end solution for demanding image capture and image processing.

Ideally suited for 3D recording of moving objects

The new CP model develops its strengths mainly in the three-dimensional recording of moving objects. At the highest sensor resolution of 1696 x 1710 pixels, it delivers 540 images per second. However, image recording in 3D metrology demands significantly higher image rates. A special feature of the new camera is that sensor resolution can be reduced both horizontally as well as vertically. This way the CP80-3-M/C-540 is able to provide extremely high image rates of up to 170,000 images per second. In addition, the series is extended by a 12 mega pixel sensor by CMOSIS.

As with all CoaXPress models of the CamPerform camera series, the CP80-3-M/C-540 complies with the GenICam and the EMVA standard 1288.
