Hyperspectral Imaging at PPMA Total Show
4 Aug 2016
Hyperspectral imaging
Hyperspectral imaging opens up innovative new inspection possibilities for machine vision users. The near infrared absorption behaviour of organic objects can provide information on their chemical structure. Based on an intuitive, configurable data processing software platform from Perception Park that makes the scientific methods of hyperspectral analysis readily accessible to everyone, STEMMER IMAGING´s hyperspectral systems allow the identification and separation of ingredients and substances based on chemical information, which is not possible using conventional colour or monochrome imaging.
Smart solution
The Boa Pro smart camera from Teledyne DALSA is available with a choice of resolutions and is embedded with the advanced Sherlock vision software. This application is particularly popular with vision integrators and is well suited to challenging or changing production line requirements. Sherlock offers the design flexibility and inspection capabilities to satisfy a diverse range of applications across all industries.
Packaging inspection system
A multi-camera packaging inspection system will be used to determine print quality, read alphanumeric and barcode data and check fill-level as boxes pass underneath. This demonstration will show how cameras with different interfaces (USB3 Vision and GigE Vision) and varying resolutions can be combined to meet different inspection needs.
