Hyperspectral imaging on show

8 Aug 2016

Stand C20, Vision UK@Photonex, The Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK, 12 & 13 October 2016

STEMMER IMAGING will be showing its new hyperspectral imaging capabilities at Photonex. This innovative technique utilises the near infrared absorption behaviour of organic objects to reveal chemical composition information. Also on show will be a multi-camera packaging inspection system.

Hyperspectral imaging

Hyperspectral imaging opens up innovative new inspection possibilities for machine vision users. Based on an intuitive, configurable data processing software platform from Perception Park that makes the scientific methods of hyperspectral analysis readily accessible to everyone, STEMMER IMAGING´s hyperspectral systems allow the identification and separation of ingredients and substances using hyperspectral data. This is not possible using conventional colour or monochrome imaging. Hyperspectral imaging has applications in industries as diverse as pharmaceutical, medical, food processing, recycling, mining and wood processing and for document inspection.

Packaging inspection system

A multi-camera packaging inspection system will also be shown to determine print quality, read alphanumeric and barcode data and check fill-level as boxes pass underneath. This demonstration will show how cameras with different interfaces (USB3 Vision and GigE Vision) and varying resolutions can be combined to meet different inspection needs.

Perception Park

Graz, Austria

The Austrian Graz-based Perception Park is the first company which specialises on industrial hyperspectral imaging. The data processing solutions based on industrial requirements result of more than 10 years of technological experience. Since January 2016 machine vision experts throughout Europe and Asia greatly benefit from Perception Park’s and STEMMER IMAGING’s cooperation.

Puchheim, Germany

STEMMER IMAGING has been one of the leaders in the machine vision market since 1987. It is one of Europe's largest technology providers in this field. In 1997 STEMMER IMAGING presented Common Vision Blox (CVB), a powerful programming library for fast and reliable development and implementation of vision solutions, which has been deployed successfully throughout the world in more than 80,000 imaging applications in various industries.
