Teledyne DALSA Xtium: High-end image capture, also in colour
21 May 2014
The Xtium-CL PX4 utilises the power of FPGA technology and CameraLink standards to provide a broad bandwidth of image data transmission over long cable distances. The basis is the PCI Express Gen 2.0 4x interface which permits fast access to the host server. The Xtium-CL PX4 allows data rates of over 850 MB/s and supports a multitude of area scan and line cameras.
The recently presented new driver version 1.10 for the Xtium-CL PX4 now also enables colour image processing. Here, the driver currently supports the RGB colour space in the standard configurations of CameraLink Base and Medium as well as 80-Bit RGB in extended configurations. 80-Bit RG/BG is available for line cameras with Bi-Colour modus such as the DALSA Piranha4 Color with 8 k resolution. Area scan cameras with Bayer filter can be operated in colour with 8, 10 and 12 Bit with the Xtium. According to Teledyne DALSA, more options will follow shortly.
