Formula Student: Autonomous racing car equipped with STEMMER IMAGING components for 3D imaging

21 May 2019

This year, STEMMER IMAGING is supporting the municHMotorsport e.V. team at the Munich University of Applied Sciences – Hochschule München - for the first time. Among other things, the team is developing a driverless racing car for the Formula Student international student engineering competition.

It is not the fastest vehicle that wins the competition, but the best overall package of design engineering and track performance. Equipped with 3D imaging components from STEMMER IMAGING, the racer for this year's season was unveiled on 3 May at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. Approximately 120 students from various study programmes developed and built the car in their free time.

"Autonomous driving is an important future trend that requires new development tools and methods," comments CTO Martin Kersting. "Supporting Formula Student is an excellent opportunity for us to establish contacts with skilled junior engineers and to see them cope with technical challenges. We wish the municHMotorsport team every success for the new season."

Further details on the racing car and the technology used will be presented shortly.
