Ultra high resolution small format lens for up to 12 megapixel
The OPAL compact C-mount lens from Schneider-Kreuznach achieves the highest image quality over the entire field. Designed to operate with 12 MP cameras and 1.1" sensors, the maximum chief ray angle of 6° assures that this lens is a perfect match for state-of-the-art sensors with pixels down to 3 µm.
The robust mechanics enable the lens to be mounted on a robot arm while the precise centering and field curvature correction ensure a sharp edge to edge image, perfect for high-end 3D measurement systems. The 400 to 1000 nm broadband AR coating makes the OPAL lens suitable for LED illumination from blue light to NIR.
This lens is perfectly suitable for the IMX253 and IMX304 sensors as the 6° chief ray angle achieves close to zero shading on the sensor.

Renaming of Schneider-Kreuznach lenses
In order to make information more accessible, Schneider-Kreuznach has decided to restructure the lens range and rename the lenses accordingly. Following existing names, all product families will be named after gemstones.

- The naming is consistent across all documents, data and on the lens.
- All features are transparent through the "descriptive name”. Our example below shows the current Xenoplan-M 2.0/28.
