CAS technology allows high resolution (down to 2.5 µm) to be used over an extremely large magnification range from 0.5x to 2.0x, with uniform performance over the entire range.
A 62 mm image circle, low distortion and excellent chromatic correction combine to make the Macro Varon ideal for high-resolution line scan applications up to 12k with a pixel size of 5 µm. The relative illumination of this lens is virtually constant over the entire image area, thus allowing the camera's full sensor length to be used.
The uniformity of light delivered to the image edge eliminates the need for electronic compensation, minimizing camera signal noise. The focal length of 85 mm allows short working distances, reducing the space required for the camera-lens assembly.
Like all Schneider-Kreuznach industrial macro lenses, the Macro Varon features an aperture locking mechanism and a robust mechanical design that ensures good stability and precise measurements even under harsh conditions.
