Ricoh Imaging

Since 1919 the Asahi Optical Co. has been producing optical components. In 1951 production of CCTV lenses was started, firstly under the brand name Cosmicar and later as Pentax.

Today, after many years of further development, these lenses are in use in numerous machine vision systems all over the world. Since 2011, the former Pentax Industrial Optical Systems Division is a part of the global Ricoh Group. The machine vision lenses are now marketed under the brand name Ricoh, but are technically identical.

With the inclusion into the Ricoh Group, the division now benefits from the development potential and product portfolio of the entire Ricoh Group.
