CVB 2011 CameraSuite MultiOS For Different Operating Systems

27 Jul 2011

The CVB 2011 CameraSuite MultiOS is our new high-performance and easy-to- install development environment for GigE Vision cameras. This new version impresses in particular with its flexibility towards the supported operating systems.

Apart from the 32-bit versions of Windows (XP, Vista, 7), the new CVB2011 CameraSuite MultiOS now also supports the 64-bit Windows 7 and 64-bit Linux (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Mint). During its development, our developers have made sure that the GenICam standard is fully implemented. Thus, CVB's successful hardware independence is fully retained.

Optimised Filter Drivers

The new CameraSuite version is based on optimised filter drivers and ensures optimum performance in use by minimising processor load. The proven memory management concept with ring buffers was maintained as was the option of providing flexible access to the acquired images, in order to utilise custom algorithms.

When using CameraSuite under Windows, the user has access to an optimised DirectX display and flicker-free non-destructive overlays. Like the predecessor version, the CVB 2011 CameraSuite MultiOS also supports various file formats and contains a large number of example programs in source code, facilitating the development of the user's own applications.

Full Support for Various Development Environments

This further development offers full support for .NET, VB, VC++, DELPHI (32-bit Windows), .NET, VC++ (64-bit Windows), Intel C++ and gcc for 64-bit Linux. For 32-/64-bit Windows, the components are based on DLLs and ActiveX Controls, while for 64-bit Linux, they are based on ELF shared objects.

Via a management console for basic configuration and a flexible decision tree for optimum support of user-specific applications, CVB 2011 CameraSuite MultiOS enables simple interactive camera parameterisation. Licensing is still provided via the MAC address of the camera.

The new Software Development Kit for all operating systems is included free of charge in the delivery of all cameras that can be purchased from STEMMER IMAGING and conform to the GigE Vision standard.
