Illumination for even and homogenous illumination of a test object.
Dome illumination enables an even and homogeneous illumination of the object
and can be used to illuminate complex reflective shapes such as ball bearings,
printed foil packaging or CDs.
Images taken using a dome illumination often show a darker area in the middle as the illumination needs to have an aperture for the camera. To eliminate this effect, dome illuminations have been developed further and are combined with a coaxial llumination that is fixed in front of the camera.
