TechNews  #08 2026

Stop guessing. Start calculating.

In this month edition:

  • NEW Lens Calculator – focal length alone doesn't tell you if a lens will actually work
  • Metaphase Zeto Controllers – scalable control for different lights in your system
  • Neousys POC-960GC – GPU power where there's no room for a GPU
  • AT Sensors C7-CA Series – your 3D camera stopped being the bottleneck
  • Teledyne DALSA MicroCalibir – 21 x 21 mm is the whole thermal core
  • VISION 2026 Stuttgart – book an appointment with our application engineers

Lens Calculator

Focal length narrows the choice. The application decides the lens.

Sensor coverage. Working distance. Required MTF. Mechanical fit. Miss one, and the mismatch may only become apparent after the lens is already mounted. STEMMER IMAGING Lens Calculator brings these parameters together before you order anything.

  • 190+ lenses, one calculator: Lens-specific validated data from several manufacturers, filtered instantly to your application. Compare options across manufacturers in one place.
  • Sensor coverage checked automatically: Lenses whose specified image circle does not cover the sensor are flagged before you buy, not after.
  • Extension rings, calculated: Working below the lens MOD? The required extension is worked out for you.
  • The whole system, one tool: Working distance, depth of field, magnification, required MTF and aperture guidance, together.

Metaphase Zeto Controllers

Flexible, scalable lighting control from one platform.

Current-controlled LED drive. 0-10 V dimming. Zeto brings both control methods together on one modular platform. The Zeto Core supports up to 16 mixed CX, CX Plus, VX-4 and VX-16 modules from one platform.

  • Up to 10A/150W with CX Plus: CX Plus drives compatible high-power LEDs directly, with strobe currents up to 40A.
  • Scale to 256, 0-10 V outputs: Up to 16 VX-16 modules provide 256 programmable 0-10 V outputs for compatible lights with integrated drivers.
  • One point of control: Touchscreen, web interface, Ethernet UDP/TCP and USB-C on a single Core.
  • Trigger it your way: Internal or external for CX, with configurable trigger inputs for VX.

Neousys POC-960GC

Edge AI needs GPU power. Most edge sites have no room for one.

The POC-960GC pairs an AMD Ryzen PRO 8640U processor with support for an NVIDIA low-profile GPU up to 70 W, bringing hybrid CPU/GPU processing to space-constrained robotics, machine vision and infrastructure installations that have no room for a full-size industrial PC.

  • DDR5-5600, up to 32GB: Fast, reliable data access under sustained AI workloads, backed by M.2 NVMe.
  • Nine ports, camera-ready: Four GigE with optional PoE+, one 2.5GbE, four screw-lock USB 3.2 Gen 2.
  • -25°C to 60°C, fan less: Runs unattended on 12-35V DC, outside a controlled cabinet.
  • Ultra compact form factor: 175 mm (W) x 159 mm (D) x 77 mm (H)
  • Rugged Design: Vibration & Shock tested compliant with MIL-STD-810H

AT Sensors C7-CA Series

5GBase-T for higher data throughput and high-speed imaging

The C7-CA Series combines powerful performance and flexible integration for complex industrial 3D applications. With 3,072 points per profile and fast 5GBase-T Ethernet, it enables reliable high-speed data acquisition.

  • Maximum profile speed: When every millisecond counts, the WARP variant reaches up to 87,873 profiles/s - approximately 32% faster than the standard version at 66,489 profiles/s.
  • Direct laser connection: The integrated LaserLink interface connects common laser line projectors directly to the camera.
  • Flexible integration: GenICam support, configurable signal levels, versatile model and Scheimpflug options
  • Compact and lightweight: 350 g, IP54, 79.8 × 55 × 55 mm
