Aluminium trays are used worldwide in a wide range of shapes for packaging food. To ensure cost-effective quality inspection of these trays, Novelis Deutschland GmbH, with the help of system integrator Industrielle Sensorsysteme Wichmann GmbH (ISW), has implemented a two-stage inspection system equipped with optimally matched machine vision components from STEMMER IMAGING.
Together with BT-Anlagenbau, STEMMER IMAGING developed a sorting system for Wolf Wurstspezialitäten GmbH that uses high-precision vision components to reliably check the quality of Berner sausages. The innovative system, which enables the inspection of sausages in flight during the production process, detects undesired intestine residues from a size of 1 mm² ensuring the good products have a purity of 99.999% depending on the defect size.
