Machine vision in packaging often starts with code reading. But identification alone is rarely enough. The real value of vision systems emerges where quality must be assured, traceability maintained, and decisions made reliably under real process conditions.
These requirements are being intensified by current drivers in the packaging industry: greater line flexibility up to lot size 1, the use of more demanding and increasingly recycled materials, and the expectation that every detected defect should translate into lower material waste and lower energy consumption.
