Large selection of models

Depending on the application, there is a choice between 27 different sensor models with resolutions from VGA to 12 megapixels and different spectral sensitivities. This flexibility makes it possible to use the Manta platform for a wide range of applications. Using a proven, well-known system as a basis offers time savings on new development and integration tasks.

Three look-up tables (LUTs) available

Look-up tables make it easy to perform preprocessing operations such as remapping of pixel values to other pixels, applying gamma to a particular colour or using pseudo-colours. Modifying gray values or binarising images in the camera helps to reduce data. This saves transmission bandwidth and relieves the CPU when processing the images.

Image trigger over GigE Vision Action Commands

GigE Vision Action Commands enable broadcasting a trigger signal to multiple GigE Vision cameras at almost the same time. This makes Action Commands more precise than a generic software trigger and a viable alternative to hardware triggering in many cases. If a vision application needs a particularly fast reaction to a trigger signal, Action Commands can be used. By using the transport layer for signal propagation, multi-camera systems require less components and cables. Generally, using state-of-the-art features in system design provides a technology advantage compared to competitors.

Feature-rich implementation

The Manta comes with an impressive collection of features, such as region of interest (ROI) readout, 3 look-up tables (LUT), support for Precision Time Protocol, Trigger over Ethernet and Action Commands. It offers exposure, gain, white balance access, onboard debayering and binning as well as subsampling on some models.

Allied Vision's modular concept

Based on Allied Vision's modular concept, it is possible to configure the Manta with a choice of housings, sensors, filters and lens mounts to adapt it perfectly to individual requirements. All variants are also available as board-level versions. Development engineers have a large choice of adaptable cameras available to simplify integration.
