Warum JAI - Sweep Plus?

Outstanding colour reproduction

The Sweep+ captures R, G, B and NIR (depending on model) bands simultaneously. For this purpose, the sensors are mounted on a specially designed optical prism, which divides the incident light into red, green, blue and optionally NIR colour channels. JAI’s patented method ensures precise alignment of the four sensors on the same optical axis. This means significantly less colour fringing and better data. It also avoids the necessity to subsequently correct image data via software.

Precision alignment of the optical axis

Thanks to the advanced prism technology used in the JAI Sweep+ cameras, the optical axis is always exactly aligned, thus eliminating parallax issues. This also avoids complex alignment procedures associated with off-angle viewing or inspection of cylindrical or wavy objects. This makes the camera perfectly suited for difficult shapes.

Engineered for high-speed applications

The advanced sensor technology in combination with an improved light transmittance ensures faster shutter speeds than with other cameras for the same light intensity. Inspection times decrease while system productivity increases.

Cameras fitted with the 10GBASE-T interface provides RGB output at a maximum line rate as high as 97 kHz, while YUV colour data can be output at faster rates up to 145 kHz. Built-in auto-negotiation technology provides automatic backwards compatibility to slower N-BASE-T (5 Gbit/s and 2.5 Gbit/s) and 1000BASE-T (1Gbit/s). This flexibility makes it suitable for a large range of industrial line scan applications from the slowest to the fastest speeds.

Precise Synchronisation

The latest models of the Sweep+ can be synchronised directly to the rotary encoders in a conveyor system to reduce the complexity of the total system. Four separate input lines plus built-in algorithms are provided to support a direct connection from up to two separate rotary encoders. Signals can also be daisy-chained from one camera to the next in multi-camera setups. Precision Time Protocol (PTP) support in the camera ensures image capture at the same time when it is linked to other PTP-supported cameras. The synchronously acquired images share the same timestamp, making image analysis easier.

10 GigE Vision SFP+ for longer cables and perfect transmission

The SW-8000Q-SFP model features an “Enhanced Small Form-factor Pluggable” (SFP+) interface which delivers GigE Vision output via optical fiber cables. The SFP+ interface supports very long cables with low latency (low data transmission delay), low data transmission noise, as well as immunity to electromagnetic interference and system crosstalk.
